Please take a moment to review the New Jersey Department of Education School Self-Assessment for Determining Grades under the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act. Thank you for taking the time to examine this very important information as the Union City School District continues to prioritize the importance of the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act.

Kindergarten students at the ECC in Room 210, have been learning all week about how to take care of our Earth. As a culminating activity, students listened to the story: The Mess That We Made. Students were then able to have a hands-on experience, exploring how water pollution leaves a permanent damage.

There are very important highlights concerning the focus of raising student interest in fruit as well as vegetable consumption by increasing the usage of locally grown food and much more. Kindergarten students at the Early Childhood Center in Room 210, had a fun day with the leprechaun STEM challenge. Students enjoyed listening to the story, "How to Catch a Leprechaun". Then, they identified materials they needed and designed a way to make a trap for that tricky leprechaun on Saint Patrick's Day.

The staff and students at the ECC celebrated SEL Week. It was a truly enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

At the Early Childhood Center in Room 210, the students continued celebrating Read Across America with “Wacky Wednesday”. Students had the opportunity to be creative and decorate a cupcake using “wacky” toppings. Shortly thereafter, the students were able to use their knowledge of adjectives to make a descriptive writing piece about their cupcakes. It was certainly yummy and a fun learning experience for them.

In Celebration of Read Across America, Classroom 114 at the Early Childhood Center read the book: Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss. It is truly a classic in American literature and children in the Union City School District certainly enjoy it.

In celebration of the 100th Day of School at Eugenio Maria de Hostos: Early Childhood Center, the students of Mrs. Presti, Mrs. Abreu and Ms. Lily's Pre-K classrooms started their day by listening to the book: Tiny and the 100th Day of School by Carl Meister.
