Congratulations to Union City, the School District, the high school, and the Scientific Research Mentors for helping their students to achieve this great honor.
Chacho, one of the AEA seniors, was selected as an oral presenter for the Junior Science and Humanities Symposium taking place at Rutgers University on March 1st and 2nd, 2017. Only twenty students were selected from the state. She is the only student from Hudson County to be selected for this honor.
Ms. C. did her research at the Susan Lehman Cullman Laboratory for Cancer Research at Rutgers School of Pharmacy on the Effects of Tocopherol on Estrogen Receptors in MCF-7 Cells.
In addition, two seniors, S. Perez and B. Sanchez, were selected to make posters presentations.
Ms. Perez did her research at Stevens Institute of Technology on the Creation of Biometic Scaffolds with Uniform Porous Fibers. Ms. Sanchez did two years of research at Rutgers Pharmacy on Identifying Changes in Exosomes in Animals Treated with Riluzole and PD1 Inhibitor. They are among forty-nine selected from the state and only four from Hudson County.
We are very proud of the achievements of our students and wish them luck in their pursuit to advance to the national level.
Congratulations to the scientific research mentors, Ms. J. Moreno, Ms. A. Smith, Ms. A. Melgar and the Supervisor of the Science Department, Dr. J. Barrios for this great achievement.
